Mr Hyde Zero Pre-Workout Review, from Pro Supps

Mr Hyde Zero Pre-workout Review Ratings

Energy

After using Mr. Hyde Zero for several workouts, I’ve found that my energy levels definitely get a boost. Even with just half a scoop of this stuff I felt jacked up and ready to go. Similar to the last pre-workout I tried, this comes on at a nice gradual pace. For me, I could really feel it by the 30 minute mark. Beginners should probably start with a half scoop, as the amount of caffeine (400mg) might be a tad much to start off with.

Focus

I found my focus improved within about 10 minutes of taking it, and stayed that way throughout my workout. Of course in part due to the massive dose of caffeine, but the Tyramine and Nobile Orchid stem could also be helping out there. Fancy names, I know. Whatever the case, it’s much easier to focus on the task at hand whatever it is that day.

Stamina

I had no problems finishing a workout that lasted 90 minutes. Sometimes I’ve found pre-workouts seem to start wearing off before the end, but not here. I didn’t feel a big crash following the workout either.

Taste

Flavor: Fruit Punch

I wasn’t crazy about the flavor personally. It’s not terrible, and you can dilute it with as much water as you want to to soften the taste. It’s very sweet. So I mix it with about 710ml of water, and the bland super sweetness is just kinda odd to be honest. The good news being that it’s ultra concentrated so you need very little water to dissolve it in and you can quickly gulp it down. Just my opinion. It dissolves very well though, no left over residue.

Overall

Mr. Hyde Zero is very effective pre-workout that is designed for those used to high levels of caffeine. Whether your hitting the weights or race track, this will help get you revved up and in the zone. Here’s a quick summary:

  • Gradual increase in energy level
  • Quickly enhanced focus
  • Decent ingredient profile, no hidden blends
  • Energy & focus maintained throughout the workout
  • No crash following
  • Fruit Punch flavor is not my favorite…

Gold Standard Pre-Workout Review, From Optimum Nutrition

Gold Standard Pre-workout Review Ratings

Energy

I found that Gold Standard Pre-workout has a subtle build up in terms of energy, but then comes on quite strong. Within about 15 minutes, I can definitely feel the difference. My face and hands start to get that tingly/itchy feeling from the good size dose of Beta Alanine included in each scoop. I felt more than ready to go. I wouldn’t want to take this too early before starting my workout.

Gold Standard Pre-workout Dosing Options

It’s great to see that they have not hidden any of their ingredients in proprietary blends, it is all out in the open for the users to see. A decent amount of Creatine, Beta Alanine, and a solid dose of caffeine that’s on the higher side but not over the top. Could be a little strong for a beginner.

Focus

In my experience, my focus really starts to feel enhanced after about 20 minutes have past. It’s interesting that it’s noticeable seperately from the build up of energy. Perhaps that has to do with my working out first thing in the morning, and it takes a while for the brain to warm up. The focus is definitely ramped up in a big way.

Stamina

My stamina is definitely improved throughout the workout. If you can maintain intensity and focus on each rep, the more effective each rep will be and the enhanced focus this stuff provides definitely helps out here.

Taste

Flavor: Watermelon

If you’re a fan of any sort of watermelon candy, then you’ll enjoy the taste of this stuff. Though it is quite sweet, there’s a bit of sourness to it to balance things out a bit very similar to a Jolly Rancher candy. It also mixes completely every time without leaving any residue or strong tastes near the end.

Overall

Gold Standard Pre-Workout is a solid pre-workout that should be used by people who have a least some experience with these supplements under their belts. I think it would be a bit strong for a complete beginner. For the experienced veteran however, this stuff is a great tool whether you’re lifting weights or doing some high intensity cardio. Here’s the quick summary:

  • Subtle increase in energy at first, quite strong when it does hit
  • Enhanced focus follows shortly after the energy kick
  • Clear and concise ingredient label (no mysterious blends)
  • Improved stamina both in strength and focus
  • No crash following
  • Strong ingredient profile with quality ingredients
  • Watermelon flavour is very sweet, and sour (like a Jolly Rancher)

Energy

EVL gave me a large increase in energy levels within 15 minutes of taking it. It came on hard and fast so be ready to workout if you decide to give it a try. The energy was long lasting, and didn’t leave me crashing after my workouts.

Focus

You can definitly feel your focus improving after taking this stuff. And unlike the energy levels, the focus came on more gradually which was a nice touch compared to other pre-workouts. Usually everything comes on quickly, and can be a bit overwhelming at times. This left me feeling calm and collected, an awesome state to be in pre-workout.

Stamina

The energy & focus levels lasted all through my workouts and beyond, leaving me feeling tired – but still alert and ready for the day – important if you’re working out first thing in the morning.

Taste

Flavor:Blue Raz

The flavor is quite strong, starting off quite sour followed by really sweet. If you like sour candies, then you’ll probably enjoy it. If you’re not a fan though, I’d try a different flavor. MixabilityMixed perfectly for me, no residue left over in the bottom of the cup.

Overall

EVL is decent pre-workout supplement, ready to boost your energy, strength, mental alertness and endurance. I’d say it’s a little strong for someone new to pre-workout supplements, but if you’re no stranger – then go for it. The most useful things to take away from this review are:

  • Rapidly increased energy
  • Gradual increase in focus
  • Energy lasted throughout the entire workout
  • No crash following
  • Strong ingredient profile with quality ingredients

Taste

First off, I’d just like to give a big thanks to the people at All Force for giving me this sample to review for you guys. Thanks a lot!

Energy

The energy that Pre Force gave me was quite strong, though I felt it gradually rise over the course of 30 minutes. I’d prefer a smooth rise in energy, over it kicking in instantaneously to give me some time to get to the gym, and not having to endure a somewhat awkward feeling car ride – especially if there’s traffic. I should also mention here that it does have some Beta Alanine, the stuff that came make your skin tingle/itch. I found it to be the perfect amount, where I could just barely feel some tingles going on to let me know it was working – and not enough to make it uncomfortable.

Focus

After looking over the ingredients, I wasn’t surprised by the amount big hit of tunnel vision it gave me. Definitely one of the stronger PWO's in this category. In my opinion, this is the biggest perk you get from any pre-workout supplement, keeps your mind focused on what you need to.

Stamina

I’m happy to report that the energy Pre Force gave me lasted all throughout the workout and beyond. No crash followed after my workout, possibly because the caffeine they use is derived from green tea instead of the recently popular caffeine anhydrous.

Taste

Flavor:Tropical Berry

I was a little worried when I first open up the sample pack and it smelled something like a spicy fruit and vegetable concoction, but I was pleasantly surprised to find it tastes quite good. Not overly sweet which is a nice change from most pre-workout supplements. Mixability A after using Iron pump for the last week, I can say that it mixes pretty well. I’ve never been left with a nasty tasting residue at the bottom of my cup which is a nice. Optimum Nutritions new pre-workout called PRE was terrible for this…tasted liked chemicals.

Overall

Pre Force is an impressive and powerful pre-workout supplement that can be used by body builders, and both high and low intensity athlete's. I can’t say I’d recommend it to someone completely new to pre-workout supplements, but if you have a little experience with them you should be fine. The most useful things to take away from this review are:

  • High energy, with gradual rise
  • Great boost in mental focus
  • Energy lasted throughout a gruelling chest & back workout without a crash following
  • Very strong ingredient profile, easily meets & industry standards and maybe higher

My Personal Review of SuperDrive from Gaspari Nutrition

Hello guys and girls!

Welcome to my personal review of SuperDrive, the newest pre-workout supplement from Gaspari nutrition. While I can’t say that it’s my favorite pre-workout in the world, it did a pretty good job at getting me amped up and ready to go. My personal score for SuperDrive is 8/10. I’ll break it down for you.

First thoughts:

As I opened my perfectly sealed sample package and took a look inside, I realized that all of the powder had hardened to the point where I couldn’t scoop it. After closing the bag and trying to squish the bag to break it up (still didn’t really work), I end up pouring what I think is about 2 scoops worth into my cup. I personally like to be able to scoop mine.

Taste and Mix

Somewhat surprsingly, there aren’t any problems with mixing Superdrive and it all dissolves perfectly with a 20 seconds or so of shaking a closed lid cup. As for the taste, I had the Strawberry Kiwi flavor. I had high hopes for it, but it turned out to be way too sweet which actually took over the good flavor entirely. After giving Superpump so much praise for it’s great tastes, I thought that SuperDrive would be similar, but thats a no.

Energy and Focus

It certainly had some kick to it, and I could feel a difference mentally and physically within about 15 minutes after taking. I started my workout at about 30 minutes, and I felt ready to go. Not quite to the point of “tunnel vision” but close.

Strength and Endurance

I used it on my Chest and Back day which is usually a beast of a workout, and SuperDrive got me through it with a a bit of energy to spare. In general I felt like I could get 1 or 2 more reps per set than I usually may without a pre-workout. Though it’s pretty hard to measure strength gains from a single workout, those 1 or two extra reps could lead to more significant gains with continued performance.

Overall

Overall a pretty good experience from SuperDrive, except for the Strawberry Kiwi flavoring. I’ve heard similar stories about the sweetness of the other flavors as well, but if you’re one of those people who love the super sweetness, I’d say go for it. And if not, then you may want to try a different option. Based on ingredients, SuperDrive looks best suited for intense sports and cardio activities like football or soccer. And if you plan to use it for bodybuilding, keep in mind that it is Creatine Free.

If you’re interested in buying SuperDrive, I’ve found the best prices are usually Amazon. You can find it by clicking the button below.
