Today we’ll be talking about Gaspari’s new pre-workout called SuperDrive. It’s their first “concentrated pre-workout” supplement, which is a little funny considering that the description of their original pre-workout called Superpump Max actually said something like “concentrated formulas consist largely of stimulants and underdosed ingredients”. I would recommend SuperDrive for someone mainly just looking for an energy boost before the gym, and not really anything else. I have many friends who fall into this category, because they’re mainly just at the gym to stay fit, and not really put on muscle. So all they want is an energy boost; if you fit into this category, than I think you’ll enjoy what SuperDrive has to offer. On the other hand, if you’re someone who wants to put on some size, and make some serious gains, I think their could be better options out there for you. You might like to consider Scream or Assault.
First up we have the value rating. SuperDrive comes in at about $34.99 for a 40 serving container. That brings the price per serving to about $0.87 which is pretty decent considering C4 Extreme has a similar price of about $0.66 – but with less caffeine per scoop.
Next up, we have energy and focus. SuperDrive does pretty well in this category with a big 250mg of caffeine per scoop. In addition to the caffeine, they use a combination of DMAE and Tyrosine to help boost your focus during your workouts. I haven’t tried this one yet myself, but friends of mine who have tell me that get a big energy rush and sharpened focus, but not to the point of feeling jittery. Sounds pretty good to me.
In the endurance category, SuperDrive fairs pretty well. Along with the Caffeine and Taurine, it uses a combination of Carnitine and Ornithine Malate(suggested to have similar function of NO Boosters) to help your muscles start repairing almost immedietly and therefore increase their endurance. Where it loses some points here is the lack of Beta Alanine, and a electrolyte blend.
Strength Gains- 5
In the strength category is where SuperDrive really loses most of its points. It does not contain Creatine, Beta Alanine, or Betaine HCL. And while some of the other ingredients may help promote this category, they won’t to the same point as the 3 ingredients mentioned above.
As with Superpump Max, SuperDrive has been recieving excellent taste and mixability reviews. I’ve been hearing that Strawberry Kiwi is the most delicious so far, and no trouble with mixing at all. Gaspari definitely has this category mastered.
